Our Story

Over the Years

Terre Haute

Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and her associaties came to Terre Haute, IN from France to carry out their ministries.

1844

First Pharmacy

Saint Mother Theodore Guerin opened the first pharmacy in the area.

1922

Lourdes Hall

Lourdes Hall was initially an infirmary but has now transitioned to what is Providence Health Care’s Assisted Living.

Dedication

What is now Providence Health Care was dedicated.

2002

Long Term Care

In 2002, Providence Health Care opened its long-term care unit, featuring 45 Medicare- and Medicaid-certified beds. Residents can choose from comfortable private or semi-private accommodations designed to provide both quality care and a welcoming environment.

Open to the public

Providence Health Care Skilled Nursing Facility opened the doors to the public; thereby continuing the Sisters’ mission and introducing a standard of excellence to the community. Anyone in the general public is welcome to recieve medical care at Providence.
